What we\u2019ll be doing is installing the best VPN on a Windows PC, and extending the connection to your smart TV. Here, your PC will act as a hotspot. However, before beginning, I should mention that you need Windows 10 to begin or at least have it installed on your PC.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s begin<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Subscribe to <a href=\"https:\/\/iprovpn.com\/buy-vpn\">iProVPN<\/a> and create your account if you don\u2019t already have one.<\/li>\n<li>Download and install the iProVPN <a href=\"https:\/\/iprovpn.com\/download\/windows-vpn\">Windows app<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Once that\u2019s out of the way, head on to create a mobile hotspot on your PC.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the search bar on your PC and type <strong>\u201cmobile hotspot settings.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If you see a switch under <strong>\u201cMobile hotspot,\u201d<\/strong> click on it to turn it blue.<\/li>\n<li>Check to see if your Wi-Fi name is displayed and check the box as <strong>\u201cWiFi\u201d<\/strong> when you see <strong>\u201cshare my internet connection over.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Now, to connect to your smart TV VPN, you need to connect your Smart TV to your Windows PC\u2019s WiFi or network. To connect, you can use the <strong>\u201cNetwork name\u201d<\/strong> and <strong>\u201cpassword\u201d<\/strong> from the previous screen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And that\u2019s about it! You now have your Smart TV VPN up and ready to use! Because your PC is the acting hotspot for your Smart TV, you can tweak around with the settings when desired.<\/p>\n<p>For example, if you\u2019re trying to stream some US movies on your Smart TV, take your <a href=\"https:\/\/iprovpn.com\/streaming-vpn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">streaming VPN<\/a> and connect to the <a href=\"https:\/\/iprovpn.com\/servers\/usa-vpn\">US server<\/a> on your PC. This way, you can protect multiple devices through it. It\u2019s somewhat an extensive process to set up a VPN on a router, but if you follow all the steps precisely, you\u2019ll get there in no time.<\/p>\n<p>However, you must be sure to have the right firmware on your router. If you try to change the firmware on your router, you\u2019ll need to flash it, which is not as simple as it looks. iProVPN offers various setup tutorials for a VPN on various routers.<\/p>\n<p>Once that is out of the way, and you\u2019ve installed your VPN on a router, you can let the smart TV connect to it. Through this, your Smart TV will now be protected by a VPN.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how you can install a VPN on Smart TV via a router:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Make sure your router is pre-flashed or has the appropriate firmware.<\/li>\n<li>If not, then change the firmware on your router.<\/li>\n<li>Install the VPN on it.<\/li>\n<li>Connect your Smart TV to your router, just as you would any device that needs to be connected to a router network.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Install_a_VPN_on_Smart_TV_via_creating_a_virtual_router_on_PC_or_Mac\"><\/span>Install a VPN on Smart TV via creating a virtual router on PC or Mac<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s pretty alright if your router isn\u2019t flashed or has the appropriate firmware. You will be able to connect your Smart TV to that virtual router\/hotspot created, extending a VPN connection to it. You can just about do that on both your Windows PC and Mac. It wouldn\u2019t exactly be installing a VPN on your Smart TV, but more like sharing the VPN connection with a cable attached to a device that supports VPN apps.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how you can use a VPN on Smart TV via Ethernet cable on Windows 10 and macOS:<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Via_Windows_10\"><\/span>Via Windows 10<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Right-click on the network icon. You\u2019ll find it on the bottom-right of your screen.<\/li>\n<li>Click on \u201c<strong>Open Network<\/strong> &amp; <strong>Internet settings<\/strong>.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Click on \u201c<strong>Change adapter options<\/strong>.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>This window will show you all your connections.<\/li>\n<li>Look for the VPN name installed on your PC.
